IMPORTANT: HDHP PARTICIPANTS — ACTION REQUIRED
If you are enrolled in the High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), you must actively reelect your Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution for 2027, even if you do not want to make any changes.

For all other benefits, no action is required if you are satisfied with your current coverage. Your existing elections will automatically roll over for 2027.

What’s New & What to Know for 2027

While there are no changes to our medical, dental, vision or other benefit plan designs for 2027, there are a few important updates and reminders to know before Open Enrollment.

HSA Elections Require Active Enrollment

For 2027, HSA contributions will require active enrollment.

If you are enrolled in the HDHP, you must actively reelect your HSA contribution for 2027 — even if you want to keep the same contribution amount.

Your other benefit elections will automatically carry over if you do not make changes.

No HSA election = No 2027 HSA contribution.

Dental Network Change

More In-Network Dentists. More Opportunities to Save.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, the NRECA Dental Plan will transition to the UnitedHealthcare Dental Network as its dental PPO network.

This change is designed to significantly expand access to in-network dentists, with more than 125,000 dental providers nationwide, while helping reduce out-of-pocket costs.

What You Need to Know

  • No disruption in coverage: You can continue seeing your current dentist.
  • Expanded network: The UnitedHealthcare Dental Network provides access to more than 125,000 dental providers nationwide.
  • Potential savings: Using an in-network dentist provides the highest available discount. If you already use an in-network dentist, you may see additional savings.
  • Find a Dentist: Continue using the Find a Dentist tool on the Employee Benefits website or NRECA Benefits mobile app to locate in-network providers through the UnitedHealthcare Dental Network.
  • New ID cards: You will receive a new ID card with updated dental contact information and the UnitedHealthcare Dental Network logo.

Medical, Dental & Vision Premiums

FSA Reminder — Action Required

If you currently participate in a Health Care or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and want to continue your FSA for 2027, you must take both of the following steps during Open Enrollment:

  1. Make your 2027 FSA election in Benefitplace.
Log in to Benefitplace and select the FSA coverage and contribution amount you want for 2027.
  2. Complete a new FSA election form.
A new election form must be completed for 2027.

Important: FSA elections do not automatically carry over from 2026. If you do not complete both steps, you will not be enrolled in the FSA for 2027.
