Little Rock, Arkansas — Sept. 25, 2023 — Recently, Justin Simpson was promoted to director of tax and insurance and Megan McClain was promoted to manager of tax for Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) and Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (AECI).
Simpson began his career with the cooperatives in 2011. During his tenure he has held a variety of positions within the cooperatives’ accounting and tax areas. McClain joined the cooperatives in 2020. She has handled roles of increased responsibility in the tax department during her tenure.
Simpson earned Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Harding University. McClain is a graduate of Henderson State University where she earned Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degrees. Both are Arkansas licensed Certified Public Accountants.
The Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas comprise 17 electric distribution cooperatives; Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. (AECI), a Little Rock-based cooperative that provides services to the distribution cooperatives; and Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp. (AECC), a generation and transmission cooperative. The distribution cooperatives provide electricity to approximately 600,000 homes, farms and businesses in Arkansas and surrounding states.
