Arkansas State Spelling Bee

The Arkansas State Spelling Bee brings together top young spellers from across the state. Sponsored by the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas, the program begins with local competitions and culminates in a statewide event where one champion earns the opportunity to represent Arkansas at the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Last year over 85,000 students from 430 schools in 58 counties across Arkansas participated in local and county contests leading up to the Arkansas State Spelling Bee.

The purpose of the Spelling Bee program is to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop correct English usage that will help them throughout their lives.
